We have a great history behind us at Toale Brothers, and we look forward to the future with enthusiasm. We have the wisdom of years of experience and the energy of youthful leaders. We plan to maintain our legacy as one of the oldest and most successful family run funeral homes in Florida for many years to come. Our goal is to provide outstanding service, and we work toward that end every day.
Trust 100
Toale Brothers is proud to be a member of Trust 100-the network of family owned funeral homes. We believe that true professionalism means caring for others, as you would care for you own family, and are committed to these ideals:
- Providing careful and caring service to our community - the people who are our neighbors.
- Encouraging prearrangement as a simple, responsible means of protecting your family from rising funeral costs and stressful decision-making at a time of loss.
- Building a five-star relationship of trust through independence, excellence, fairness, professionalism and integrity.
History
Established in 1912, Toale Brothers was originally purchased by the Toale family in 1948 by brothers George E. and Jack P. Toale. Their sister Catherine Toale Christian-the first female licensed embalmer in the State of Florida-joined them later. As the families grew, the operation expanded to cover Sarasota and Bradenton. George brought his sons Curtis and Robert into the business and Jack brought his son, David.
For over 30 years, David, Curtis and Robert were responsible for the management of the company with the help of Comptroller/General Manager, Myron Nickel. Since joining the firm in 1979, Myron has been integral in the day-to-day operations.
In 2006, Robert's sons Jason and Jeffrey took over management. Second generation Sarasotans, both Jason and Jeffrey are married and active in the community. Jason holds a Bachelor's degree in management information systems from the University of South Florida and an MBA from Rollins College with concentrations in finance and management. Jeffrey is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelors degree in finance. Both have completed their mortuary science education. They practice the Toale Brothers business values, which have been handed down through the generations: Respect, Service and Integrity.
