Jonathon "Jon" Frederic Hart

Jon Hart, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at home on October 22 after a lengthy illness. Jon was born on May 8, 1961 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to parents Duane and Nancy Hart. At the age of 6, Jon's parents moved the family to Venice in 1967. Jon attended Venice Elementary, Venice Junior High and Venice High School. Jon continued his education and obtained his Masters Plumbing License while working in the family business, Plumbing by Hart. In 1996 Jon became sole owner and operator of Plumbing by Hart and was well regarded in the constuction industry, known as a true master of his craft. In 1992 Jon married his beloved Carolyn and they enjoyed 30 years together. In 2005 at the age of 44, Jon was forced to retire due to severe health problems, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, and became the recipient of a double lung transplant in 2007. For 15 years Jon fought a valiant battle, and with the help of medications, excellent doctors, and an exceptionally disciplined regimen, Jon enjoyed some very good years. Unfortunately because of his compromised immune system he repeatedly fought squamous cell carcinoma and eventually succumbed to it. In his healthier years Jon absolutely loved spending time on the water, enjoying boating and fishing, and leisure time with his close friends at Snake Island. Jon was also an avid baseball fan, never missed a World Series. Jon loved Nascar and attended the Daytona 500 whenever he could. One of his fondest memories was attending with his dad where they enjoyed the race parked in their RV in the infield of the track. Jon loved cars, especially “muscle" cars and enjoyed the "classics". When his health no longer allowed him to own and drive these cars, he often spent time assembling intricate models of his favorite styles. Jon also loved dogs and was never complete without a loyal one at his side. Several beloved pets passed on before him, Ruby, Whitney, Maggie and Sammie. Jon was a talented gardener, always having the nicest yard on the block! One of his passions was grilling and he was known for cooking the perfect steak. Everything Jon did he did well, having a gift for problem solving and a talent for repairs of any kind. He willingly helped family, neighbors and friends whenever he could. Jon worked hard, played hard and loved his family, dogs and his gift of life. He was preceded in death by his father Duane Hart and sister Angela Redmon. Jon leaves behind his wife Carolyn, daughter Ashley McIntyre (Allen), granddaughter Stella, mother Nancy Hart, brother Roger Hart (Becky) , sister Lisa Rees (Richard), brother Todd Hart and many nieces and nephews most of whom had their first boat ride with their beloved Uncle Jon. Memorial service will be held Saturday November 12, 2022 at 1:30 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 3000 East Venice Avenue - Venice, FL 34285.
