Madeline "Peggy" Anderson

Madeline “Peggy” Anderson, 92, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on November 10, 2022. Peggy was born April 8, 1930, in Lake Worth, FL to Edward and Gertude Swain Brosseit. She married Walter Hodge Anderson, from Sanford, FL, in West Palm Beach in 1954. She and Walt moved to Sarasota and raised 6 children. She had the largest family in the neighborhood, so her home became the neighborhood home – you didn’t need to knock, just come in the back door. Peggy brought a lot of courage to the great challenge of raising 6 kids. She taught us all about reaching for the best feelings in life and the value of laughing every day. She volunteered at St. Martha School and was a member of the Kiwanee's Club. She and Walter moved to Ormond Beach in 1980 where they eventually retired. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Peggy lived her life devoted to her family and many friends. Her gift of gab, kindness, infectious smile, and joy of life will be forever remembered. She is survived by her brother Charles Brosseit, her children Susan (William) Kennedy, John (Ingrid) Anderson, Patricia (William) McCarthy, Eric Anderson, Timothy (Selina) Anderson, and Mark Anderson, Her grandchildren Wesley (Alisha) and Chad Anderson, Ross and Connor Kennedy, Sam Anderson, Ryan (Gina) McCarthy, and Kelly (Marshall) McCarthy Pepe, great grandchildren Alex and Katherine Pepe, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Hodge Anderson in 1999, and her brother Edward and her sisters Mary, Anna, and Lynda. On Saturday, November 19th there will be a visitation at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 N. Orange Ave. at 12:30 pm. A Mass in celebration of her life will follow at 1:30 pm at St. Martha Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Ave. Mom said, “Don’t send flowers! Take that money and go out to dinner or do something nice for someone.” You can also make donations to Tidewell Hospice or a charity of your choice. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. We will miss her and the extra light she brought to our lives. Rest in peace for a beautiful life well lived.
