It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of **Susan Maggio**, beloved wife, mother, and friend, on November 11, 2024, at the age of 58. Susan fought a courageous battle against a rare brain cancer for six years, showing incredible strength, resilience, and grace throughout her journey. Her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Born in 1966, Susan was a proud graduate of **Syracuse University**, where she laid the foundation for a successful and varied career. Early in her professional life, she worked in advertising sales at the **Sarasota Herald**, where she earned a reputation for dedication and expertise. However, it was in the world of interior design where Susan truly flourished, becoming an accomplished and sought-after decorator. Her keen eye for style and passion for transforming spaces were only matched by her commitment to getting the best deal for her clients. Whether shopping for fabrics or finding the perfect furniture, Susan took pride in delivering both quality and value to those she served. In the early 2000s, Susan co-founded the well-known local magazine **Savor Fair**, which became a staple of the community. Her creative energy and entrepreneurial spirit also led her to host the popular local TV show **"Chick Chat"** alongside her dear friend Ginger Mentzer, where the two shared lively discussions, great advice, and a sense of humor that resonated with viewers. Susan’s love for life was contagious. She had an uncanny ability to turn even the most ordinary day into an adventure. Known for her boundless energy, sharp wit, and infectious laughter, she was a loyal friend to many, always ready with a listening ear, a kind word, or an offer of support. She truly made everyone feel like family, and her clients quickly became her friends—people she would go above and beyond for, building deep and lasting relationships. Above all, Susan cherished her role as a mother. She adored her son, **Jaden Maggio**, with every ounce of her being. He changed her life in ways words can hardly express, and she loved being a mother more than anything else. Her love for Jaden was fierce, constant, and unconditional, and she took immense pride in watching him grow into the remarkable young man he is today. Susan was also deeply devoted to her loving husband, **Dean Maggio**. Together, they shared a life full of adventure, love, and laughter. Susan cherished their partnership, the memories they built, and the joy they found in each other’s company. Her unwavering love for Dean was evident in every aspect of their life together, and she was truly grateful for the bond they shared. Her family was the center of her world. Susan is also survived by her dear **mother-in-law, Barbara Maggio**, and **sister-in-law, Bahama Russell**. While Susan’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A **celebration of Susan's life** will be held on **Monday, November 18, 2024**. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to **Team Tony** in Sarasota, a charity that supports individuals and families affected by cancer, in Susan’s memory. Susan was, above all, a woman who embraced life fully. Her infectious spirit, her fierce love for her family, and her unwavering support for her friends and clients will be remembered forever. She faced every challenge with the same courage and positivity that defined her life. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17th, 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 40 N. Orange Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34236. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 18th, at 11:00am, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 12905 State Road 70 E, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202.
