Ann Cherry Hutchison

Ann Cherry Hutchison, 92, of Venice, FL, passed into glory on Nov 20, 2017. Annie Court was born October 8, 1925 in Chadderton, England, to Effie (Butterworth) Court and Harry Court. Ann married William Karl Cherry during WWII and moved to the U.S. with him to live in Wilmerding, PA. Together, they raised three sons. Ann was active professionally and in various civic and creative endeavors throughout her life. She managed the East Burroughs Insurance Agency, worked for the Occupational Health Foundation, was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a life-long Methodist, and a member of the Embroiderers' Guild of America and the American Needlepoint Guild. She also held multiple positions on the Women's Association at her beloved Ridgeview Park and at the Village on the Isle. After the death of her first husband Karl in 1984, she married Robert Hutchison of Squirrel Hill, PA, on March 30, 1996. Ann and Bob retired to Venice, FL, where she continued to enjoy stitching, painting, duplicate bridge, and loving three generations of both families. Bob predeceased her on December 31, 2012. Family who survive and mourn her loss include her sons and daughters-in-law Robert M. (Judy) Cherry of Harrisburg, PA, David L. (Sandy) Cherry of Casper, WY, Karl W. (Theresa) Cherry of Wexford, PA, her sister Dorothy Rowley of Midland, MI, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. A service is being planned for Ann's friends and neighbors at the Village on the Isle. She will be laid to rest at a private ceremony at Grandview Cemetery in North Versailles, PA, with her first husband Karl, and mother Effie. Another memorial service will be conducted this summer for family and friends at Ridgeview Park, where each season closed with the hymn "God be with you till we meet again; By His counsels' guide, uphold you, With His sheep in love enfold you; God be with you till we meet again." In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgeview Park Association with a note "In memory of Ann Cherry Hutchison" and mailed to the financial secretary, Crist Berry, 2006 Grove Ave, Richmond VA, 23220.
