Beverly J. Bank

Beverly J. Bank, 77, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on February 13, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Dallas McClenahen and Betty (Martz) McClenahen on November 19, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan. Beverly graduated from Dearborn High School in 1961. She married Kenneth R. Bank in 1962 and they lived together in Dearborn, Michigan, for 28 years before relocating to Sarasota. Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth R. Bank, and their three children: Kenneth R. Bank, Jr. (Lynn) of Dearborn, Michigan, Gregory A. Bank (Yvette Sais) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and Pamela Bank of Venice, Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Catherine Bank, Caitlin Bank, Vanessa Bank, Joshua Roberson, Gregory Bank, II, Nicholas Buchanan, Julian Mendoza and Rachael Mendoza, as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Beverly was predeceased by her parents, Dallas and Betty McClenahen, her sister Marilynn McClenahen DePue, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Beverly was everyone's favorite Mom. She welcomed so many into her home, and her cheerfulness, smile and laughter are fondly remembered by all who knew her. She kept her home spotless and gave her children the best childhoods. She devoted her life to raising them, taking them to baseball, ballet, piano and other activities. Beverly also made a beautiful summer home for her family in Howell, Michigan, where the kids swam, boated, rode motorcycles and played baseball, often inviting family and friends to join them for fun. She had lifelong girlfriends and she held the time she spent traveling and visiting with them near and dear to her heart. For a time, Beverly and Ken had a second home in Las Vegas and she loved playing blackjack in the casinos. She was a wonderful cook, always had dinner on the table at 6 pm sharp, and always had enough for anyone who came in. Most of all, Beverly loved taking long walks on Siesta Key Beach. She would visit with friends along the way, go dancing at the Beach Club and enjoyed many a time with friends at the Tiki Bar. Beverly loved her family and friends immensely and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. A memorial reception and Siesta Key Beach walk in Bev’s memory will be held on February 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at the family home at 6640 Peacock Road, Sarasota, Florida 34242. A viewing ceremony will be held later, on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, 8809 Wayne Road, Livonia, Michigan 48150, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., followed by burial at 1:00 p.m. at the Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, 43300 West 12 Mile Road, Novi, Michigan 48377
