Chloe Arloine Reichard Trautman

On Saturday, April 22, 2017, A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Chloe Arloine Reichard Trautman at 4pm at First Christian Church, 3601 S Staley Road in Champaign, IL. Family will start greeting visitors at 3 pm. Light refreshments will follow after the service in the Church. Chloe passed away very peacefully at home on Thursday, April 6th, 2017 at 4:05 in Sarasota Florida with family by her side. Chloe was born on June 30, 1927 to David W.(Bud) and Benita(Bee) Reichard in Urbana, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David Reichard, and her sister Arloine who died in childhood. She is survived by her husband, J.M.(Mike) Trautman in Sarasota, Florida; they were married in 1956. Also surviving are their six children, Dr. Michael (Jolie) Trautman and Phil Trautman of Champaign, David (Karen) Trautman of St. Joseph, Charles Trautman of Denver, Colorado, Michelle Trautman and Babette (Rick) Paige of Sarasota, Florida and five grandchildren, P.J. Trautman, Jake Trautman of Champaign, Chloe Trautman, Joshua Paige, and Reece Paige of Sarasota. Chloe graduated from Urbana High School in 1945, she attended the Illinois Commercial Business College and the University Of Illinois. She had a Bookkeeping and Accounting practice for many years and established her own Income Tax preparation business called The Tax Shop in the late 1960's. She prepared taxes every season beyond her 88th Birthday. This year was the first tax season she ever missed. Chloe loved seeing her customers and reminiscing about their lives year after year. Chloe was an avid golfer and enjoyed many years of golfing with her friends at the Champaign Country Club. Chloe is an ACBL, Gold Life Master bridge player who authored a book about her passion, she taught bridge for many years at the Urbana High School in Adult Education. She stayed active with her Bridge playing online with the likes of Omar Sharif and many others around the world. In between her Income Tax and Accounting, she continued to swim or ride her stationary bicycle daily. Chloe took her kids on many great family trips. She lived and worked in Champaign, Illinois and was a part time resident of Sarasota FL for many years. She was a fantastic person in every way and she dearly loved her Family, she had a very special bond with her Dad, they loved ice skating together and she loved going to work with him in his Plumbing Business as his biggest helper and bookkeeper for D.W. Reichard Plumbing and Heating. Mom you were a blessing to all and you will continue to live on forever in our hearts and memories.
