Edward G. Page, known affectionately to friends and family as Ed, was a man whose life was a testament to the power of love, spirit, and determination. Born on March 20, 1936, in Chicago, IL, Ed was called to his eternal home on July 26, 2025, in Sarasota, FL, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and wisdom that will be cherished by all who knew him. Ed's journey began as a humble sheet metal worker, but his analytical mind and spirited nature soon led him to become a respected general contractor. His contributions to the development of Oakbrook and Hinsdale, Illinois, stand as enduring monuments to his professional dedication and expertise. Ed's work was not just a career; it was a craft he honed with love and precision, imbuing each project with his signature diligence and integrity. A devoted husband, Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Page. Together, they created a family foundation that would support and nurture their children, Edward Page Jr., Judy Deady (spouse Kevin Deady), Linda Weaver (spouse Gary Weaver), and Kelly Norton (spouse Mike Bogusz). Ed's role as a father was one he cherished deeply, guiding his children with a balance of firm principles and gentle understanding. Ed's legacy continued to blossom through his grandchildren, Scott Patterson, Alex Patterson, Kellen Deady, Maggie Deady, Michael Norton, Kameron Norton (spouse Brianna Norton), Nicholas Norton, Shawn Bogusz, Tyler Bogusz, Blake Bogusz, Garrett Weaver, Page Weaver, Sam Page, and Mark Page, and his great-grandchild, Cecelia Norton. He instilled in them the values of faith, hard work, and the importance of family bonds. Each of them carries a part of his spirit, and through them, his love will continue to flourish. Ed's zest for life found its expression in a myriad of interests. An avid sportsman, he ran the Chicago Marathon four times, his tenacity and endurance serving as an inspiration to many. His love for tennis and cycling reflected his belief in the importance of physical well-being, while his passion for movies revealed a man who appreciated the narratives and emotions that connect us all. Edward G. Page's journey on earth may have come to an end, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and the many lives he enriched. As we gather to bid him farewell, we take solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace in the loving embrace of our Lord. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated August 14th at 9:30am at Holy Trinity Church (111 S Cass Ave) in Westmont, IL, followed by a private burial service.
