Elizabeth (Liz) Lambert

In Loving Memory of Elizabeth (Liz) Lambert It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, our beloved mother Elizabeth (Liz) Lambert, whose presence was a beacon of love, strength, and grace in our lives. She went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2025, just shy of her 97th birthday. Liz was a proud graduate of Hillsdale College and a Chi Omega Sorority member. She taught first and second grade at Summerfield Elementary in Michigan before retiring to Florida. Never one to be idle, she served over 50 years in the Coast Guard Auxiliary with flotillas in Toledo, OH; Eagle River, Alaska and primarily the Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda Flotilla 98, as a Training and Education Officer and vessel inspector. She served as a mate for Kingfisher Cruise Lines out of Fisherman’s Village and continuing her lifelong love of boating earning her captain’s license for a 100 ton vessel. Liz also became a successful Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, even winning the coveted pink Mary Kay car! Liz had many passions; she loved the Lord and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte and later Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota. She enjoyed sailing the Great Lakes and the Gulf, even venturing into the Caribbean. Liz had a very creative side; whether it was painting murals for the Ft. Myers Coast Guard station, faux painting her daughter’s house, painting Bob Ross at the Punta Gorda Civic Center, making jewelry, or just doing crafts at home her creativity was boundless. Above all Liz loved being with her family who will all miss her very much. She is survived by her daughters Gayle (Adam) Thompson, Lisa (Paul) Lambert and Gretchen (Billy) Turner who will forever argue which one was her favorite daughter. She was predeceased by her loving husband Chester and daughter Kathryn Lenhardt. She was dearly loved by her grandchildren Michael Perry, Laura (Matt) Milligan, Kelly (Dennis) Dehn, Jessica (Aaron) Romero and, great granddaughters Nicole, Elle, Gentry, Adelina, Mendi, Tirzah, Ava and great grandsons Max, Cyrus, Alaric, Mason and great, great granddaughter Claire and great, great grandsons Carter and Levi. We will be honoring her with a Memorial Service in Charlotte Harbor. Together, we will celebrate her incredible journey and the immeasurable love she brought to this world. Rest in peace Mom, you will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.
