Today, we come together to honor and remember a truly extraordinary woman, Eugenia Kurdas, who, at the age of 90, nearly reaching her 91st birthday, left us to join her beloved husband in eternal peace. Born on April 8th, 1933, Genie's life was a testament to the beauty and depth that can be found in passion, art, and love. Genie's spirit and zest for life were infectious. She embraced the world with open arms, and in return, the world was brighter for it. Her passion for ballroom dancing, especially the Argentine Tango, spoke volumes of her grace, her strength, and her unyielding joy. Through dance, she expressed the unspoken, the rhythms of her heart mirroring the music that she so loved. Her dance was a bridge between worlds, connecting hearts and souls in a shared language of beauty and movement. As an artist, Genie had the rare gift of capturing the essence of life's fleeting moments on canvas. Her pastel paintings were more than just art; they were pieces of her soul, shared with the world. Each brushstroke, each hue, was imbued with her love, her dreams, and her hopes. Her artwork remains a beacon of her legacy, illuminating the lives of those who had the privilege to know her and those who continue to discover her talent. Genie's life was also a story of love, a love that endured the test of time and separation. Widowed by her husband, Cashmere John Kurdas, a distinguished World War II veteran, she carried the torch of their shared memories with dignity and grace. Together, they were a force of unity, resilience, and unconditional love. Now, they are reunited, resting together in the gates of heaven, their love story continuing beyond the confines of this earthly realm. Genie is survived by her loving children, Casimer John Kurdas, Rick, Casimer Jr. (Kip), Mark and Sandra. Grandchildren, Mark Casimer Kurdas, Chad Kurdas, Kerrie Kurdas Coffman, Marcos Antonio, Armando, Michael ,Priscilla Great Grandchildren, Marcos Antonio, Sebastian, Catalina, Charleigh, Aleigh. Each one carries a part of her legacy, her values, and her love. Through them, her spirit lives on, a guiding light leading the way with grace and love. As we gather here to say our final farewells, let us remember Genie not with sadness, but with the joy and love she shared so freely. Let us honor her memory by living our lives with the same passion, kindness, and love that she exemplified. Let us dance in her memory, paint our dreams with the vibrancy she showed us, and hold our loved ones close, just as she would have done.
