Evelyn Joan Stacy Loeser Supplee Johnson Ferguson was born September 17, 1931, and went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Evelyn was born in Rahway, New Jersey and was the 6th of 7 children of Vernon and Ethel Stacy. She graduated from Rahway High School and attended Katharine Gibbs Secretarial College, while being employed by Prudential Insurance Company. Evelyn married Gilbert N. Loeser in 1951 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Rahway, New Jersey. After Gil was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy: they moved to Tampa, Florida where they resided for many years. She was employed by Frankland Enterprises. In 1965, Evelyn married Stanley A. Supplee and resided in Tampa, Florida. They owned a catering company together. In 1979 Evelyn married Robert D. Johnson (Bob) (of Cleveland, Ohio) at St. Boniface Episcopal Church on Siesta Key where they resided. Bob retired from B. F. Goodrich. In 1994, Evelyn married Dr. Charles F. Ferguson at St Boniface Episcopal Church and moved to Sarasota, Florida. Dr. Ferguson retired from Boston Children's Hospital. Evelyn was a member of St. Boniface Episcopal Church, Siesta Key, Florida for 44 years. Evelyn was a Lay Eucharist Visitor and a Stephen Minister. Evelyn was a graduate of Education for Ministry, manager of the St. Boniface thrift store for 30 years, a church usher for 40 years, a Lector, a Lay Reader, Chalice bearer, Acolyte, Crucifer and served on the Altar guild. Evelyn was a St. Boniface office receptionist volunteer for 25 years, and a member of the Boniface Society. Evelyn was helpful in many ways for the Church she dearly loved. She also was a volunteer at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Evelyn loved being a daughter, sister, wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and a Christian. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Ethel Stacy (Gluckman), her brothers Vernon and Joe, and her sisters Katherine, Virginia, Ethel and Marilyn, and Gilbert N. Loeser Sr, Stanley A Supplee, Robert D. Johnson Sr., and Dr. Charles F. Ferguson. Survivors include sons Gilbert N. Loeser Jr. (Linda), Bernard E. Loeser (Alice), and Robert S. Loeser (Laura); stepsons: R. D. Johnson Jr, W. D. Johnson (Elaine), and R. L. Johnson (Kathy) as well as 8 nieces, 6 nephews, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Evelyn loved the Rays and Bucs. For the viewing, you are encouraged to wear your favorite Rays or Bucs apparel or those colors. Viewing will be Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Toale Brothers Funeral Home and Crematory from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. (40 N Orange Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236) A memorial service will be Friday, November 17, 2023, at St. Boniface Episcopal Church (5615 Midnight Pass Road, Sarasota, Florida 34242) at 11:00 A.M. with a reception to follow in the parish hall. The service will be broadcast live on St. Boniface Episcopal Church website under "Evelyn Ferguson Memorial Service". A family service will follow at Sarasota Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Boniface Memorial Fund.
