Frank Gamsky

Frank Gamsky, 93, of Bradenton, died in hospice care August 17, 2023. He and his wife, Elaine (Kiedrowski) were well-known owners of Linger Lodge RV Resort and Restaurant from 1968-2005. A pioneer of eastern Manatee County, his development of Linger Lodge gave thousands of residents and visitors an experience only found there. Frank was a legend. He had an unusual sense of humor and loved to tell customers far-fetched stories and well-timed jokes and shared his unusual taxidermy such as the Alaskan Fur Fish, who he said swam here for the warm waters of the Braden River in winter. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he proudly served in the United States Army. He will be remembered for his love of friends, family and animal life as well as volunteering at the Old Braden River Historical Society in his later years. He was so proud of his family: children Daniel (Kathleen), Debra (Warren Bell), Frank David (Susan) and Donna. He cherished his grandchildren Lindsey (Brian) Peacock, Megan (Shawn) Patterson, Virginia Gamsky (William Hust), Warren “Beau” Bell III, Becky Gamsky and Rachel Gamsky as well as his great grandchildren Liam Gamsky Hust, Korraline Patterson and Parx, Stone and McKinley Peacock as well as his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents Frank L. and Adeline M. (Vahlert) Gamsky and siblings Dorothy (Frisch), Russ, Loretta and George. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Bradenton Chapel, 912 53rd Avenue West, Bradenton, FL 34207. Frank Gamsky has a million of them; his wife and friends have heard them all…and heard them all… and heard them all. Funny thing, we always waited for an encore. If you’re profiling for kindness, humor, an incredible work ethic and the biggest heart in the South, you’ve arrived at the right place for all the memories of this loved and celebrated man. Just ask his family and community of friends. We’ll miss you Frank, now we’ll never know why the chicken crossed the road.
