Kenneth George Porvaznik

Ken was age 71 born in Elizabeth, NJ, on June 21, 1947, and he resided in Venice, Fl. until he passed on May 9th, 2019. Ken was the son of John M and Anna Porvaznik who proceeded him in death. Ken is survived by his loving wife Rita and his brother John M Porvaznik of Venice, and his daughters, Tracy Porvaznik of Pt Charlotte, Carrie A. Porvaznik-Meredith of Scranton, Pa., and grandaughters, Devon Porvaznik and Mia Meredith of Scranton, Pa. His stepchildren Gina Regalado of Wellington, Fl., and Paul Metivier of Sarasota, Fl. and grandchildren Anthony and Paul Metivier and Alexander and Isabella Regalado. In High School, Ken loved to play drums and loved baseball. He was an excellent pitcher, even once scouted but was drafted and entered into the Marines instead. He was proud and always would refer back to fellow Marines wherever he was at with his fave saying "Semper Fi", a true Marine. Ken was also a diehard sports fan of the Indianapolis Colts, as well as a fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Redwings. He was a great husband and a great Father as well. His family and friends truly loved him. Ken was a quiet natured guy but very thoughtful. If he could, sometimes even when not feeling great, he'd help out. Through the years Ken also loved his pets and always took great care of them. In the end, he was a strong soldier through and through, fighting the best he could against CANCER. Your family and friends love you very much Ken. You are always in our hearts. Now we know you will be watching over all of us instead. A Visitation Service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm at Toale Brother's Funeral Home, in the Ewing Chapel, 140 East Venice Avenue, here in Venice On Tuesday, a Military Service will be held on Tuesday morning May 21, 2019, at 11:30 am, at the Sarasota National Cemetery-9810 State Rd. 72, in Sarasota.
