Mark Louis Stratton

Mark Louis Stratton, 59, passed away unexpectedly at Sarasota Hospital due to complications in the Sarasota Health System. Mark was born in Peterborough, New Hampshire on November 7, 1956, son of Albert Stratton and Kathleen (Stebbins) Stratton. Mark loved New Hampshire and had planned to spend his old age there. No matter where he lived or traveled his heart remained in the small New Hampshire town of Jaffrey and the people he cared about and where his ancestors had settled hundreds of years ago. Mark made many treasured friends in Florida, particularly in the extensive Southern rock music scene. He enjoyed the competetive Cribbage games with friends at the SKOB, in Siesta Village. Most of all he was at peace and content while riding his beloved Harley. Mark loved being called Papi Mark by his family Grandchildren. He always ended their fun days in New Hampshire saying," Goodnight you Princes and Princess of New Hampshire, you Kings and Queen of New England." In Florida, time with his family Grandson, Matthew Burns, was special as they both shared the same interests in hunting, boating, and fishing. Mark thought of Matthew's Mom, Vicki, as an inspiration of kindness and concern for others. Mark had a favorite memory of attending the Patriots - Buc's Game held in London, England with family daughters, Bonnie, Deborah, and his cherished Grandson , William. Deb's a Buc's fan and he being a loyal Patroit fan made it a great opportunity for both. A quiet and nonjudgmental man, Mark, like the deer he hunted and admired, was a strong but gentle man. Mark seldom met a person he did not like and took a special interest in each person he met through his life. Many years where spent with mutual happiness, devotion, love, and respect with his Nancy, who cherishes every moment of their adventures thorough the world and their lives together. They will meet again. Mark will be greatly missed by; Nancy Stratton, Sarasota Florida, His Mother Kathleen Stratton, Sarasota Florida; his 4 siblings; Tom and his wife Terry, Andover Connecticut, Steve Stratton, Richmond Virginia, Tim Stratton, Ft. Lauderdale Fl. and Doug Stratton, Fall River Mass. He will also be missed by many relatives, neighbors. friends and his beloved Pets. A Memorial of his life with us will take place at the Siesta Key Oyster Bar in Siesta Village on October 2nd @ 1PM, while we will be watching his team, the Patriots, play the Bill's. A Memorial for Mark will also be held in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, when we take him home.
