Patricia Ann (Good) Murphy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Patty on September 15, 2017, with her daughter Trisha by her side. Born in Indiana, she was the daughter of Richard and Lucille (Berry) Good. She is survived by her husband Donald Murphy; daughter Trisha Krantz; son Daniel (Samantha) Krantz; step-children Shawn (Rick) White; David (Christine) Murphy; grandchildren Jailyn Krantz, Jonte Krantz, Montana Burell, Savanna Krantz, Austin Krantz, Logan Krantz, Natasha (Will) Busby, Travis White, Nanette White, Christopher Murphy, Megan Murphy, Michelle Murphy; siblings Terry (Rose) Good, Pam (Bob) Rynders, Carol (Gary) Covey, Deb (Jim) Helmke, Bill (Pilar) Good and Richard Good II; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her mother Lucille Good and brother Gary Allen Good. Patty was a very fraternal and active individual, a joiner. She was a life member of the DAV, VFW, American Legion, Elks, Eagles and Moose. But the one she loved the most was the Cabane of the 40/8 V880, where she was so loved throughout the whole state of Florida. Patty loved her career at Publix and recently retired after more than 15 years of service. She also loved to travel, whether it was to Fort Wayne to see her Daddy and her grandchildren, Jailyn and Jonte or "home" to Nova Scotia to see "Her Canucks". She was a lady whose hand was extended for all of those who needed advice, help or assistance of any kind. She loved socializing and made friends easily. You always knew when Patty had arrived. She had a special ability to be larger than life wherever she went. She always had an opinion and nobody asked a question from her if they were not prepared for the answer! She always told it like it was – because her opinion was law. Cross it and pay the consequences! We all loved her for her perseverance and attitude – resistance was futile. She will be truly missed as God only made one of her. Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will take place at 2 pm, Saturday, September 30 at the American Legion, Post 30, 4015 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota. Family committal service of cremated remains to be in Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
