Pru-Ann Lowe Miller

Pru-Ann Lowe Miller passed away on April 26, 2024, in Sarasota, Florida, at the age of 91. She is predeceased by her husband Harold F. Miller, Jr., parents Malcolm B. Lowe and Florence Pruden Lowe of Tenafly, NJ and Quogue, L.I., NY and her two brothers Malcolm B. Lowe Jr of Wilmington, NC and Gordon V. Lowe of West Palm Beach, FL Her sister-in-law Helen Miller Dunn and her husband John Dunn III and their son John Dunn IV. She is survived by her two children Melissa Miller Farrington and her husband Brian J. Farrington and their children Brian J. Farrington Jr. and Robert B. Farrington and his wife Orion Jackson; and her son Malcolm Lowe Miller, his wife Brenda and their two children Maggie Grace and Ian Chase Miller. Her nephews and nieces including Douglas S. Freeman II and Mary Susan Wyche, Sarah Lowe and Malcolm Branson Lowe III. Pru-Ann was very active in multiple associations including: DAR since 1979 holding many leadership positions including Regent, historian and chaplain. She was the DAR Florida State Chaplain from 1992-1995; Colonial Dames; Women's Aglow Fellowship; Sarasota County Republican Executive Committee; Republican Women's Club of Sarasota; National Huguenot Society; Sarasota Prayer Breakfast Planning Committee and Board member; Mayors' Feed the Hungry Board; Key Beach Association, (White Sands Cabana Club); and The Field Club Sarasota. Pru-Ann was a woman of many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, playing golf, beachcombing for shells, genealogy, traveling, Bible study, animals, and watching Hallmark movies. Pru-Ann grew up in Tenafly, NJ and spent summers at the family home in Quogue, L.I., NY. She married Harold Frank Miller Jr. in 1958 and moved to Pleasantville, NY. After moving to Sarasota in 1971, she used her education from the Parson's School of Design to build her dream home. She lived there for 53 years. A service to honor Pru-Ann's life will be held at Toale Brothers Funeral Home Colonial Chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL, on June 8th at 11 am.
