Rodney L. Muller

Rodney L. Muller, 85, of Sarasota, Fl., passed away Wednesday evening March 24, 2021. He was born on June 23, 1935 in Philadelphia (Upper Darby), Pennsylvania. Rodney was the son of the late Lionel J. Muller and the late Thevera Johnson Muller. Rodney lived in several states during his early childhood as his father worked for Sears Roebuck opening new stores in Chicago and along the Eastern Seaboard. In 1948, at age 12, his family moved to Sarasota permanently. Rodney graduated from Sarasota High School in 1953. At age 13 Rod met his sweetheart, Margaret Sauls. They wed in 1956 and were married almost 62 years. As a young man Rodney worked at Obrig Laboratories and Kiekhaefer Mercury Motors. His most rewarding job opportunity was teaching remedial education at McIntosh Junior High in the 1970’s. His final place of employment was at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art as a security guard for over ten years. This is a very special place to his entire family where countless memories were made. Rodney was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, in November 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah M. Muller of Sarasota, Fla; his siter-in-law, Wanda G. Morosco and her husband James C. of Sarasota, Fla; brother-in-law, James R. Sauls of Bradenton, Fla; two nieces, Alissa Gingras and Carly Sauls; two nephews, Kyle Gingras and his wife Krista and Daniel Sauls and several great nieces and nephews, Keely, Kate, Ella and Jack. Rodney was loved and adored by his family and friends. His faith was unbreakable, his gentleness, kindness and love unending. We have peace knowing this wonderful Dad, Uncle, friend is now with the love of his life dwelling in the house of the Lord forever and are comforted in the blessed assurance of one day being together again. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday evening, March 27, 2021 at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34236. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday afternoon, March 28, 2021 at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34236. The interment will be private at Manasota Memorial Park.
