Roger Paul Orban

Roger Paul Orban, age 65, loving husband and devoted father, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends after a four-year courageous battle against Cancer (ATC). He lived a life of integrity, honor, loyalty and kindness. His zest for life was contagious and the impact he made was grand as he was a warrior fighting his cancer battles multiple times. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Roger and Vivian Orban and his father-in-law, Niles Tunberg. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Patti Orban (Tunberg) his daughter Kristin Collins (Orban) and William Collins (son-in-law) Siblings, Laura Orban (Peter-Fiancé), Kathy Eller (Steve), Bob Orban (Pam), Tom Orban (Kathy-significate other), Paul Orban (Barbara-Fiancé). His Aunts, Lucille Preston and Mary Anne Greaney (Pat). He is also survived by Patricia Tunberg (Mother-in-law) and brothers and sisters-in law, Ronald Tunberg (Patty), Karen Phillips (Michael) and numerous nieces and nephews and among many close friends. Roger was born in Manhattan, Kansas on November 15, 1956 to Roger and Vivian Orban and he was the oldest brother of his five siblings. His parents moved to Oak Lawn, IL where he spent the majority of his early years. Prior to moving to Sarasota, FL in 2021, Roger and his family lived in the “Woods of Wayne” located in Wayne, IL. He served his community as a Board Officer for 27 years. Roger loved his family and enjoyed spending family vacations on the beach, hosting family events, grilling and concocted the best cocktails around. He had a passion for playing hocking with his buddies, golfing and reading. Roger had a long and productive career in the CAD industry and possessed so much pride and accomplishment within his field of his work and expertise. His recent employment was at Autodesk/Fusion 360 (Business Development Executive) where he held a number of senior and successful management positions. A Mass of intention for Roger Orban, will be at St. Linus Catholic Church, 10300 Lawler Ave., Oak Lawn, IL, Sunday, April 23rd at the 10:00 a.m. regular mass that will be followed by a private Celebration of Life, Palermo’s 95th Restaurant (4849 West 95th St., Oak Lawn, IL) from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank his teams at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston TX and Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota, FL as well as the many families and friends who provided love and support.
