Arlene Green died on January 7, 2022, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of The Springs at Lake Pointe Ranch in Sarasota, Florida. Arlene Green is survived by her children Sheryl (Jim) Richards of Bedford, Indiana; David (Julia) Lang of Irvine, California; Immanuel (Devorah) Legomsky of Jerusalem, Israel; Michael (Eva) Green of Agoura Hills, California and Ellen (Dale) Morton of Woodstock, Illinois; her sister Sally Haberman of Sarasota, Florida; and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arlene Betty Wexler was born June 24, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio to Louis and Lillian Wexler. Her father Louis was Director of the Ohio Press Service. In December 1949 she married Alvin “Al” Lang who was a regional women’s clothing sales representative covering several states. They had three children in six years, so she was a busy mother as they set up housekeeping in Cleveland. An active family and social life ensued that was filled with children, extended family, friends, and pet dogs. The family moved to Pittsburgh, Pa. for a job with a different clothing company. They also formed their own company organizing tradeshows for exhibitors. Acer the death of her husband Al in 1985, Arlene continued to operate the company for several years. Following Al’s death Arlene was fortunate to find another love in her life. She met Max Green through mutual friends, and they were married in December 1989. They began married life in Pittsburgh, later moving to Sarasota, Florida to enjoy the sunshine in their retirement years. With this union two families blended to enjoy travel, family celebrations, and new friends. Max and Arlene enjoyed the theater, entertaining friends and family, and travel to many varied destinations. Her husband Max passed away in 2013. Arlene often said she was fortunate to have enjoyed life with two wonderful husbands. Those who knew and loved Arlene are blessed to have shared in her vibrant life and boundless hospitality for so many years. Arlene was a wonderful cook, and an accomplished seamstress. She loved dogs, games, bridge, and entertaining family, friends, and acquaintances. There was always an extra place at the table for friends and family. We will miss her, and she will live in our hearts forever. A celebration of life is planned for a later date with details to be posted on the Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Sarasota, Florida website. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
