Arne Ellermets went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday July 31, 2021 in Lakewood Ranch Florida surrounded by his family. Arne was born on November 2, 1931 in Tallinn, Estonia. He and his family escaped communism and arrived in New York when Arne was a 17 year old. From the age of 23 Arne served the United States of America as an officer in the USAF. Upon retirement Arne and his wife Wilhelmina served the Lord full-time as AWANA missionaries in Europe. Their life goal was to share Jesus Christ and see others come to know Him as Lord and Savior. Arne was preceded in death by his wife Wilhelmina of 66 years. He is survived by his 6 children, Arne Ellermets, wife Lucia, Beth Barnett, husband Randy, Paul Ellermets, wife Susan, Mark Ellermets, wife Anne, Heidi Marburger, husband Gary, Kent Ellermets, wife Val. Arne is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Anna, Eric, Ashley, Krista, Brian, Matthew, David, William, Jack, Luke, Josh, Jeff, Jenn, Jessica, Paige, and Leah. He also leaves 24 great Grandchildren. He was DEARLY loved by his family. He also leaves his brother Heiki Ellermets, wife Alida, brother-in-law PC Klersy, wife Linda, and many nieces and nephews. Arne enjoyed his military career as a Pilot and retired as a Colonel in 1984. Immediately following his retirement Arne and Wilhelmina became AWANA missionaries and served in Europe translating the AWANA materials into German as well as working in clubs. They loved their family and friends but above all they loved their Jesus. Arne will be missed. The funeral will be officiated by Pastor Gary Marburger and Pastor Tim Passmore on Saturday, August 7, 2021 11:00 AM Visitation prior at 10:00 AM at Woodland Community Church, 9607 SR-70 E, Bradenton, FL 34202 The USAF will give Arne Ellermets a military burial with full military honors Monday August 9th at 9:30 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery.
