Bessie Mabel Ilene Hartman Feys was a dearly loved Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. After a long and full life, "G. G." passed away on Monday July 11, 2016 at the age of 93 in Sarasota FL. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter Delores Jean Hartman Von Canon and her husband of 57 years, Warren G Hartman and her second husband Eddie Feys. Her parents were Alpheus Newton Brown and Maggie Ellen Crews Brown Jestus. Her brothers were Rufus, Ira, Olin, Austin "Ott" Brown. Her sisters were Amilie, Opal and her beloved sister was Doris Virginia Brown Powell Tuttle. She was born in Lewisville Forsythe County NC, on Sept 18, 1922. In her lifetime she moved numerous times with her husband's long career at National Linen Service. She has lived in Winston Salem NC, Charlotte NC, Asheville NC, Chattanooga TN, Jacksonville FL, Atlanta GA, Clearwater FL, Crystal River FL, Hiwassee GA, and Sarasota FL. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Hartman Setliffe and Kimberly Hartman James. Her grandchildren are Valerie Von Canon Melcher, Hunter Von Canon, Catherine Von Canon Outten, Kelly Setliffe Caldwell, Leslie Setliffe Jubran and husband Robert, Delores Setliffe Standifer, Eileen Setliffe Bowman, Tiffany Brooke Gammaro and husband John. Her great grandchildren are Christopher Robert Kelton, Joshua Lee Kelton, Jeremy Warren Kelton, Zachary Lea Caldwell, William Brandon Caldwell, Madison Leslie Bowman, Chandler Paul Bowman, Emory Susan Bowman, Adrian Robert Jubran, Teak Allister Hartman Gammaro, Thorne N Melcher, Pierson Forte Melcher, Lillie Marie Von Canon, Madelyn Graham Von Canon, Joseph Hunter Outten, Thomas "Miller" Wolf Outten, Asher Von "Canon" Outten, Maryelise Adeline Outten. Her great great grandchildren are Abigail Grace Kelton and Macy Jane Kelton and a Baby due in January of 2017. She loved having her grandchildren come to Florida for summertime visits. She was the life of the party everywhere she went, such a character, full of life and joy. She loved travelling the world, dancing, cooking for her husband, spending time with her family at Crystal River, frying fish that her family and friends caught in the Florida waters. Her family will gather together to share stories and laughter at her outrageous and unorthodox humor. She is remembered laughing heartily with her daughters and her grandchildren. She was an elegant woman, who was quite the flirt. Stories of her shoes are known by those who love her. She will be sorely missed. The Visitation will be on Saturday, July 16 from 1 – 3 pm at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Rd.Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A Graveside Service will follow at 4 pm at Woodland Cemetery on the corner of Reynolds Blvd and Indiana Ave.
