Catherine Dorman Wood

Catherine Dorman Wood, 90, joined her heavenly family January 26, 2022, after a short illness. Known to all as "Kitty", she was born in Girad, Alabama, then moved to Sarasota, Florida at the age of seven. Kitty attended Sarasota High, and married her high school sweetheart, Jack D. Wood in 1951, blessed with 68 loving years together. She worked along side her husband Jack at the family restaurant, "Bea & Bill's Happyland" on Midnight Pass in Sarasota, from 1951-1967. The family later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where she worked at the Original Oyster Bar restaurant. She was blessed with four children, Jacki, Debi, Connie, Billy, along with 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a surviving sister, Elizabeth DeLoach of Sarasota, Florida. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she will be forever missed by those who loved her. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
