    George E. Viner

    May 26, 1935 - May 22, 2022

    George E. Viner, formerly of Bradenton, passed away on May 22, 2022 in Sun City Center, FL. Born in Pittsfield, MA on May 26, 1935, he moved to Bradenton in 1992. Mr. Viner was employed at the Berkshire Eagle for 39 years until his retirement in 1991. During that time, he served as composing room foreman for 22 years. Mr. Viner served in the U.S. Navy on board the destroyer U.S.S. Smalley. He was a member of the U.S.S. Smalley DD565 Association and the Destroyer Veterans Tin Can Sailors. He was a member of Kirby Stewart Post 24 American Legion. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy L. Teates (Byron) of Parrish, FL, son George E. Viner, II (Pamela) of Sun City Center, FL , five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Coralie, who will be entombed with him. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Mansion Memorial Park Cemetery in Ellenton.
