Joseph Glickman
April 4, 1933 - August 13, 2021
Born in Albany, NY to Nathan and Sadie (Nee Demboe) Glickman; Joe moved to Miami in his early childhood and remained there until his retirement with Hansen Publications in the early 80's. His love of fishing and the great outdoors moved him and his family to Lakeport, Florida where he started a second career with the State Board of Corrections as a prison guard, auxiliary Sheriff's Deputy and volunteer firefighter. After moving to Sarasota Joe enjoyed ushering many performances at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, the Asolo Theater and at the Players Theater. Joe was also an avid collector of art, stamps, and coins. Joe will always be remembered for his generous spirit, his warm and caring heart and his love for his family and friends. Joe leaves his wife Norma, his son Jonathan (Georgianna) from Tallahassee, daughters Deborah (Rick) from Sarasota, Denise (Bill) from Clearwater Beach and Teresa (Steve) from Dade City; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Place in Sarasota.
