    Josephine "Jo" Pate

    April 19, 1942 - October 16, 2021

    Josephine “Jo” Pate, 79, of Sarasota passed away October 16, 2021 after battling cancer. She was born on April 19, 1942 in the village of Kingsteignton in Devon, England to Harold and Muriel (Brimmicombe) Murray. Jo came to the United States at age 7 and met her future husband Jim on arrival in Shreveport, Louisiana. They were married in 1964 while living in Los Angeles, California. Jo and Jim came to Sarasota from Dallas, Texas in 1996. She is survived by Jim, her loving husband of 57 years, daughter Tiffany Dendy and her husband Doug of Decatur, Texas, grandchildren Cheyenne and Douglas Dendy of Decatur, Texas, and Sylvia, Russell, and Julie Eaton, Charlotte Stringfellow, and Emily Markland, all of Bolton, England.
