Lenore M. Patrice Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lenore M. Patrice passed away peacefully on January 12, 2022 at her new home in Sarasota, Florida at the age of 95. Lenore was born on December 14, 1926 to Ralph and Grace deFelice in Brooklyn, New York. She attended what is currently known as the Mannes School of Music in New York City and taught piano for several decades before relegating piano solely to a pastime. Lenore met her future husband, Steve, on a blind date in 1955, married him the following year, and they remained inseparable for nearly 65 years until his passing in 2020. She had a bold, energetic spirit and was always ready to run through her repertoire of jokes with family, friends and new acquaintances. She also assisted Steve in his business, Red L Foods, a national frozen food manufacturing company, by participating in the design of new products and working side by side with him at regional and national frozen food manufacturers’ shows. After living in Trumbull, Connecticut for nearly 30 years, Lenore and Steve moved to Sarasota in 1996 to be near her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, ultimately settling in University Park. She thrived on competition and was an avid tennis and golf enthusiast, playing regularly with friends at Trumbull’s Tashua Knoll Club and the University Park Country Club. She also loved spending time with her friends and family and enjoyed participating in the many Patrice family traditions including cooking a wide range of Italian specialties and hosting many festive holiday dinners and family celebrations. She always made sure her family and friends left with lots of leftovers to enjoy over the ensuing days. Lenore is survived by her son, Stephen; daughter-in law, Sharon; grandchildren, Grace, Kate and Jonathan and his wife, Casey; great granddaughter, Eloise; Niece, Jeanne Dupree; great nephew Michael Dupree and family as well as other loving family members and friends. A virtual memorial service will be held on Sunday January 30, 2022 at 1 PM. Interment will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
