    Lindsey Elizabeth Smith

    April 26, 2022

Lindsey Elizabeth Smith passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on April 26, 2022, at age 43. She leaves behind a heartbroken family who lost their loving daughter, caring little sister, cool sister-in-law, and special aunt, way too soon. Lindsey owned Scout & Molly’s Boutique / Lakewood Ranch and was a resident of that community, as well. If you shopped in her store, you knew that you had found a fashion professional with a discerning eye, impeccable taste, and a very honest approach. You also felt like you had known her forever because she was a great listener, and she remembered every detail about your family, even months later. She successfully grew her business because she cared so much about the presentation of the store and took an interest in every customer, filled with gratitude for their business, every single day. Lindsey was born in Brookfield, Wisconsin in 1979 and graduated from Brookfield East High School in 1997. She earned an accounting degree in 2001 from the University of San Diego. After stints in public accounting and investment banking Lindsey found her true avocation as a Fashion Entrepreneur, opening Scout and Molly’s Boutique 4 ½ years ago. Lindsey was quick-witted, loved music and fashion and had a killer ground stroke when she picked up a tennis racquet. Jimmy Buffet concerts with her mom and sister were always preferred outings. Her chill dog, Piper was her constant companion and new puppy, Dash provided lots of excitement around the house. Lindsey is survived by her mom and dad, Mary & Steve Smith of Osprey, Florida, her sister and brother-in-law Sarah and Matt Pancheri and their daughters Jane, Isabelle and Gabrielle, of Pewaukee, Wisconsin; as well as many aunts and uncles and “the cousins.” She also could not be happy without plenty of dinners at Jackie and KO’s house or visits from AJ and Anthony from San Diego. We will miss her every day, and she will live in our hearts forever. Remembrances may be sent to Honor Animal Rescue in Bradenton, Florida, or a charity of your choice. A private family service was held.
