Mary Louise Winter

Mary Louise Winter, age 87, from Longboat Key, Florida passed away Saturday June 19, 2021. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. Born in Van Worth, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John Bagley and Erma Wartman. Mary attended the University of Chicago for fashion design but became a pioneer in the resort management industry owning a resort called Kamloops in Hope, ID and later managing, The Islander Club of Longboat Key, FL. Mary loved to travel and in the winter months spent her time on the sunny island of Barbados, where after 25 years of visiting, the town made her and her husband Harry, citizens of Barbados. She also enjoyed kayaking around the Sarasota Bay with her kayaking group and she was an avid water color painter and supporter of the arts in Longboat Key/Sarasota. Mary was preceded in death by her parents John Bagley and Erma Wortman; sister, Katherine Bollinger; husband, Harry Donald Winter. She is survived by her children; daughter, Elizabeth Gaye Powell (Rob); son, Harry John Winter (Florence); grandchildren, Chad and Jeremy Turnbull, Mary (Winter) Jungels, Robert, Harry, and William Winter. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 28th 2021, at 1 pm, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810- State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
