Thomas "Sonny" Dorociak

November 13, 1942 - February 17, 2022

Thomas "Sonny" Dorociak, 79, of Sarasota passed away on February 17, 2022 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born November 13, 1942 in Illinois. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by both of his sisters. He was an Army veteran and retired from the Sarasota Sheriff's office after 15 years of service. He will be remembered by his wife of 54 years, Carol (Matko) Dorociak of Sarasota, his son, Richard Dorociak of Sarasota, and his daughter Jennifer (Tom) Papageorgiou of Miami. His love for his only grandchild, Zachary Papageorgiou, was unwavering. A service will be held at the Veterans National Cemetery in Sarasota on March 4, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
