On 9/9/2020, Ursel Cox passed away peacefully after a long battle with Dementia. Ursel was born in Danzig and grew up in Frankfurt, Germany. She is survived by her husband Frank Cox, daughter Karin Evensen Humphrey [Philip], son Erik Evensen [Karyn], and her grandchildren Ethan and Sophia Evensen. Ursel had a love of roller skating at a young age and taught others competitive skating in Germany. Ursel moved to Paris, France where she attended the University of Paris, perfected her French and worked for Chicago Bridge Company as an English, German and French translator. Ursel moved to the USA in 1965 and to Florida in 1975. Ursel met her husband, Frank, in 1990. They lived in Sarasota and enjoyed traveling together. One of her favorite places was on the beach with Frank finding the perfect shell. Ursel was a very creative, sweet and nurturing person. She raised birds, could grow any plant from a root cutting, needlepointed, traveled the world, owned a childcare business, owned a jewelry store, and created and made beautiful jewelry. She loved sports cars and at one time owned a bright red Mustang. Ursel was a Certified Nursing Assistant in Sarasota, Florida who loved taking care of her patients. She also supported her husband running various trade shows at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium. Ursel is loved and will be deeply missed by her husband, children, family and friends. Her grandchildren very much loved their “Grandma Florida”! Services will be held on October 5, 2020 at Toale Brothers Funeral Home located at 40 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34236. The family will greet friends and family at 10am. Service will be at 11am. A Private Graveside Service will be held for immediate family members at 1pm at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
