Victor Lawrence Faeth Jr, (Larry),79, passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 12, 2022. Larry was a person of humor, affection, and faith who lived his life in service to his family, friends and community. Born in Cincinnati, OH, he graduated Elder High School and later Mount St. Mary’s Seminary with a Masters in Divinity and was ordained as a priest in 1970. During his twenty-five years in the priesthood he served as pastor of several parishes, vocation director for the diocese, and as special liaison to the Sheriff’s Office in Florida, during which time he obtained a Masters in Police Chaplaincy. Retiring from the priesthood after twenty-five years, he became President and CEO of Jolar Logistics. He served on several national and regional boards including Habitat for Humanity. He volunteered for the American Red Cross for 15 years where he served as one of five national logistics operators, traveling to crisis locations across the county (including Hurricane Rita and the tornadoes in Joplin, MO) setting up relief centers. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas More Council 7826 in Sarasota. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Joyce, as well as sisters Mary Louise Gist (Dan), and her sons Christopher, Brian, Alex and John, William Faeth (Jennifer); Monica Myers (Jim) and her children Grace, Victor and Valerie; Roberta Slaski and her children Dan, Alexander, and Victoria; and Paul Faeth (Sam) and his children Sean and Chelsea. Memorial Service scheduled for July 9, 10 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Sarasota. Donations can be made to St. Thomas More CFA.
