Jean Roch Rodrigue

Jean Roch Rodrigue, age 84, of Englewood Florida born October 17, 1937 in St.Beniot P.Q., Canada, passed though the heavenly gates September 9, 2022. Jean was a very loving husband, father, Brother, grandfather (Pepere’), Great grandfather, and caring great friend. His family and him moved to Augusta Maine when he was young, and where he graduated from Cony High School. Following his graduation from Cony High School he joined the the US Air Force and was proud to serve his country. Part of his love while in the military was all of the traveling he did. In the late 70’s him and his family moved to Venice Florida and became a Licensed Contractor. He helped many families design and then built their homes in the area. Many times, the remodeling or building of homes was done with a handshake. He enjoyed his work and when he had the spare time loved playing pool, traveling and taking cruises with his wife. He was an avid snowmobiler, belonged to the Snowmobile Club and was involved in the grooming of trails etc. One of the special trips he did, along with friends did was ride from Maine to Canada. Other Clubs he was member of was the Le Club Calument , VFW, American Legion and the Moose Lodge His favorite (joking) saying was “I hate kids” as he was building trees house or zip line for them or just playing with them. He was always so happy when everyone was around. He loved his family and friends and there were so many children and even some of their parents that called him Pepere. He is going to be missed by so many that knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary, Daughter: Tracy Steinmeyer (Doug) of Maine, Son: Jean Luke, of Venice FL, Grandsons: Cory Rodrigue of Tampa, Patrick Turgeon of Maine, Seven sisters: Noella Barker, Louisa (Gil) Dostie, Anne Aube, Jeannine (Larry) Beland, Claudette (Dick) Poulin, Terry Aube, Monique Raymond, Grandchildren: Amy Case, Heidi Gow, Patrick Turgeon all of Maine, Great Grandchildren: Alexandra Marchand, Kayleen Crandall. Step family: daughter: Linda Vadala, granddaughters: Alycia Jackson, Rosiland Copeland, grandsons: Greg Jansen (Stephenie), Jeff Jansen, Michael (April) Zeigler, Cameron (Brianna) Vadala, Great granddaughters: Layla Jackson, Hazel Jackson, Sophia Vadala, Taya Zubek, Alara Zubek, Aurora Zeigler, Scarlet Jansen, Aubrianna Norton, Great grandson: Camden Vadala and many others that called him “Pepere” He is proceeded in death by his: Twin Brother and three other brothers: Roland, Renee, Norman, his son Edward and Great Granddaughter: Juliette E. Case.. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 1 PM at Toale Brothers Ewing Funeral Home 140 E. Venice Avenue, Venice, FL 34285 There will also be Memorial Service in Augusta, Maine at the National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60601 or to your favorite charity.
