Jeanne Elizabeth Chorman (née Hagen)

Jeanne Chorman was born on January 5, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Thomas and Nellie Hagen (née Sliter). She grew up in Cleveland at St. Aloysius Parish with her brothers, Thomas (Tom) and Gerald (Jerry), and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. As an adult, Jeanne moved to Euclid, Ohio, where she worked for Euclid, Inc. as a Supervisor, overseeing multiple areas of the business. Before starting her career, she married the love of her life, Robert Chorman. They were married for 59 wonderful years. Jeanne was a perfectionist in every aspect of her life, with her love for family always being a top priority. Jeanne and Robert were the “go-to” couple of the family, and they treasured their time on their boat, “Megan,” as members of the Chagrin Lagoon Yacht Club in Eastlake, Ohio, enjoying many parties and trips on Lake Erie with family and friends. In the 1980s, Jeanne and Robert moved to Siesta Key, Florida. Jeanne cared for her mother until her passing, and their home on Midnight Pass became their permanent residence. Jeanne loved her home, which became a vacation destination for family and friends, offering peace and comfort. Both Jeanne and Robert were involved in volunteering and their church, and their neighbors became their best friends. Jeanne had a unique ability to listen and help others with any problem, often sharing her opinions and advice. In her later years, when she couldn’t get out as much, dock parties became a regular tradition, filled with crackers, cheese, wine, bourbon, laughter, and counseling. Being part of this group was a privilege. Jeanne’s home was always open, welcoming everyone with food, refreshments, and unconditional love. Her family had a special Easter tradition every year, celebrating the season at her beautiful Siesta Key home on the bay. As Jeanne’s health began to decline, she remained strong, often referring to herself as a “tough old broad.” She overcame many obstacles in her life, always more concerned about her loved ones. When she needed additional help, her niece, Rose, introduced her to Jeanine, her amazing caregiver, who became her best friend. Jeanine provided loving care and compassion for four years, offering comfort to Jeanne’s family and keeping everyone updated. Jeanne celebrated her 100th birthday on January 5th, surrounded by family and friends. She smiled and enjoyed the special celebration. Jeanne passed away on January 11, 2025, with Alan, Rose, and Jeanine by her side. Aunt Jeanne will be greatly missed, but her many special memories will live on through all the lives she touched. She leaves behind a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and sister-in law Georgia Hagen (Jerry), and all who loved her. The Family would like to thank Sarasota Memorial Hospital, American House, The Pines of Sarasota and Tidewell Hospice. Burial will be April 23rd at 10:00 am at the Sarasota National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Gabriel Church, Concord Township, Ohio at a date to be determined.
