Mark Zuffante

Mark Zuffante, 73, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of accomplishments, cherished friendships, and a legacy of passion for music, law, family, and sports. Born on January 20, 1953, in Flushing, Queens, New York, Mark was the son of the late John Angelo Zuffante and the late Judith Skupsky, later known as Judy Haas. Raised in Queens, he developed the curiosity, determination, and enthusiasm that would define his remarkable life. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1970 before earning his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1975. While at SUNY Stony Brook, Mark combined his leadership skills with his lifelong love of rock and roll. As a senior, he served as Concert Chairman, helping bring an extraordinary lineup of artists to campus, including Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Jethro Tull, and many other emerging performers who would later become music legends. His keen eye for talent and deep appreciation for live music launched a successful career in the entertainment industry. Following graduation, Mark joined Premier Talent, where his contributions earned him a Gold Record plaque from the band Journey. He later worked at International Creative Management (ICM) before becoming head of Cricket Talent's U.S. operations. During this time, he represented several groundbreaking British new wave artists, including Simple Minds and Echo & the Bunnymen, helping introduce their music to American audiences. Never one to shy away from new challenges, Mark made a bold career transition in the late 1980s by enrolling at Fordham University School of Law. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1987 and began practicing law with Dewey Ballantine, where he worked until 1994. He then joined KPMG, where he built an outstanding legal career, ultimately serving as Associate General Counsel and Partner until his retirement in 2013. Retirement proved to be only the beginning of another chapter. Mark joined Anchin, Block & Anchin as General Counsel, serving the firm until 2019. In 2022, he and his wife relocated from New York City to University Park, Florida. That same year, he embraced the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence by joining Lumenova Al, a startup company, as its Chief Legal Officer, once again demonstrating his willingness to learn, grow, and help shape the future. Beyond his professional achievements, Mark's greatest passions were music, sports, golf, and the people he loved. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants and rarely missed an opportunity to watch his favorite teams. He loved spending time on the golf course with friends and family. A lifelong Grateful Dead enthusiast, Mark attended more than 100 Grateful Dead concerts across the country, creating unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships through the music he loved so deeply. Mark will be remembered for his intelligence, generous spirit, adventurous nature, and remarkable ability to reinvent himself throughout his life. Whether negotiating contracts, mentoring colleagues, enjoying a round of golf, or sharing stories about legendary concerts, he brought enthusiasm and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Vivian D'Elia of University Park, Florida; his brother, Jay Zuffante of Long Island, New York; his son, Zach Zuffante of Lindenhurst, New York; and his son, Sam Zuffante of Queens, New York. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, former colleagues, and countless people whose lives were enriched by his kindness, wisdom, and friendship. His family takes comfort in knowing that Mark lived a life filled with purpose, curiosity, laughter, and love. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
