Peggy Ann Hasty

A true gift from God, Peggy Ann Hasty, born on Christmas day in 1938, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord & Savior in Bradenton, FL on April 25th at the age of 87. She was surrounded by her loving children and close family. Peggy was born in Elkhart, IN to George and Lena Veatch and had one brother, Gary Veatch. She spent a lifetime weaving a elegant tapestry of relationships that filled her life with great joy. A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Peggy adored her husband Lyle, her one and only true love, as well as her three wonderful children, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A beautiful soul inside and out, she held a strong faith in God that she shared with all of her family. In 1959 she married Lyle Hasty in Elkhart. Soon after their nuptials they relocated to Erwin, TN. After spending thirteen years there building their family and working in the family business, they relocated again to Bradenton, FL in 1972 where, aside from a few short years living in Riverview, FL, she would reside until her death. To know Peggy was to know a woman of true grace, elegance and sense of style. She had an inner warmth that made everyone feel welcome and comfortable and was always there to lend an ear or help with a problem. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed politics and had a deep love of animals, particularly dogs. As she reached the end of her life she often said how blessed she was to have lived such a wonderful life filled with family, friends, love and more good times than she ever dreamed possible. Peggy is survived by her adoring children Brad (Debbie) Hasty, Julie (Kenny) Wittmer and Jilly (Dan) Morrison as well as her grandchildren, Lauren (Nick) Richardson, Brett Bosier, Danielle (Ben) Sato, Brandon (Sarah) Bosier and her eight amazing great grandchildren, Teddy, Alastair, Mya, Gia, Ryuichi, Wyatt and Lyle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lyle of 67 years and her brother, Gary. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Bishop Animal Shelter, 5718 21st Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34209. Knowing animals are being taken care of in her name would surely bring her immense joy. Due to her sudden passing the family has chosen to delay her service until December 2026 to allow the family time to grieve and make the event a true celebration of her life. It was also her favorite time of the year when the family all gathers together. Details regarding the service which will ultimately be held at 53rd Street Church of Christ in Bradenton, FL will be provided at a later date.
